Chatting with reporters just before practice on Tuesday morning, the New England Patriots wide receiver was asked about the baby news Cardi announced on CBS Mornings last week. The star receiver flashed his trademark smile and said, “Oh, my personal life? I told you about that. We don’t talk too much about my personal life. But I heard about that.” It was classic Diggs—deliver a line and keep it moving.
Though Stefon stuck to his usual low-key script with the press, he posted a little more online. Under Cardi’s latest Instagram highlighting prep for her Little Miss Drama tour, he chimed in with a sweet emoji and a simple, “Get the baby a stage.” Looks like he is keeping the playful dad vibes alive from the start.
“Proud of you for staying focused ❤️,” he wrote on her latest post. A few scrolls down, he dropped another comment that made fans squeal, saying he’s “100% team boy 💙 😩🙏🏾,” wishing for a baby boy to join their crew.
In a secret reveal, he teased Spanish boy names: “Thinking of Spanish names.. right now 👨🏽🍼.” Fans are already guessing what those could be!
Cardi, 32, first dropped the baby-news in her CBS Mornings chat that aired on Wednesday, Sept. 17. She confirmed on camera, “I’m having a baby with my boyfriend, Stefon Diggs,” to anchor Gayle King. She made it clear the little one will be born right before her tour kicks off in February.
Saying “thanks” to King’s obviously warm congrats, she told fans: “I’m excited.” She added, “I’m happy. I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong, very powerful that I’m doing all this work — but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.”
On the same day, Cardi updated X with an on-the-go selfie with her NFL star boyfriend. The pic was a little moody, but their smiles made the dark background pop.
