All About Jason Momoa kids Lola and Nakoa-Wolf.

Jason Momoa, known for his role in Aquaman, and Bonet, famous for The Cosby Show, started dating in 2005. They welcomed Lola Iolani in 2007 and Nakoa-Wolf in 2008. Bonet’s daughter Zoë Kravitz, born in 1988, is from her marriage to musician Lenny Kravitz.

Momoa and Bonet quietly tied the knot in October 2017. They parted ways in January 2022 and finalized their divorce in January 2024. The court granted them joint legal custody, so they share parenting equally.

In a November 2024 interview with PEOPLE, Momoa talked about their family time. He mentioned a friendly board game he plays with Nakoa-Wolf, which always brings out a little competition between them.

“I’m not at all competitive—until I’m in it,” Momoa said. “There are a few board and card games that pull me in when I’m playing with my kids. Lately, though, my son has been mopping the floor with me, and he loves to brag the whole way home.”

Starting this summer, the dad and son will swap rivalry for teamwork. Deadline reported on June 17 that the young Nakoa-Wolf will make his film debut opposite Dad in the third Dune film.

From their arrivals in the world to the paths that already echo their famous parents, here’s a snapshot of Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet’s two kids.

Lola Momoa, 15

Momoa and Bonet became parents for the first time on July 21, 2007, when Lola Iolani Momoa arrived. Dad chose the middle name Iolani—”royal hawk” in Hawaiian—to connect their daughter to his culture.

In a 2019 Esquire interview, Momoa described a close call the day Lola was born. He was in Canada filming and Bonet’s water broke a couple of weeks early. “I missed about seventy calls. When I finally woke up, I freaked out,” he said.

Lucky for him, he snagged the very last seat on the flight home. “I made it just in time,” Momoa told reporters, grinning. “I spent two hours in the tub with [Lisa], and then my baby girl showed up.”

In a 2020 chat with Men’s Health, the Aquaman star got real about being a girl dad. He confessed he cried when Lola turned 13 and stressed that the idea of her dating one day freaks him out.

“I’m not gonna handle it,” he admitted. “If she shows up with some lame bad boy, I’ll lose my mind.”

Momoa didn’t leave out his stepdaughter, Zoë. He beamed when he talked about her, saying, “I pray my daughter grows up talented, loving, and tight with her family like Zoë.”

Lola and her little brother, Nakoa-Wolf, showed up with Dad for the 2022 New York City premiere of Batman, cheering on big sister Zoë.

In August 2022, Jason Momoa shared that his little girl Lola is totally hooked on the classic sitcom Friends. He smiled and said, “My daughter’s massively into it. It’s wild to sit there and watch what I grew up on when I was her age.”

Fast-forward to March 2024, and Momoa sat down to talk about how fatherhood feels different now that his kids are older. “I was really hands-on when they were little, which was huge,” he said. “They traveled with me everywhere, but now that they’re in high school, friends are a big part of the picture.” He laughed, “They still think I’m cool, but I’m pretty sure I’m losing that status little by little.”

Then in April, he brought Lola onstage at a concert in L.A. and the two of them nailed a duet of Amy Winehouse’s “Valerie.” They did it again in June 2025, and the love was clear.

Jason’s second child, 16-year-old Nakoa-Wolf, arrived December 15, 2008. He and Lisa Bonet chose the name Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa but everyone calls him Wolfie.

Just like he did for his daughter, Jason Momoa picked a name for his son that honors his Hawaiian roots. Nakoa means “warrior,” and his first middle name, Manakauapo, describes the dark, rainy weather that was happening the day the baby was born. The second middle name, Namakaeha, is the same middle name that Jason carries, connecting the two of them even more.

Momoa shared with InStyle that not having a dad living with him while he was growing up influenced the way he raises his own kids. “I didn’t know what it takes to be a dad,” he said. “I’m not the kind of parent to just say, ‘Because I said so.’ I really want to bond, and I want him to feel he can be vulnerable and open with me.”

When he filmed Dune in 2021 with stars like Timothée Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, and Josh Brolin, Momoa used his time in the spotlight to send a loving shout-out to his boy. In between takes, he slipped a message in that said he loved him and was proud of him, showing again that he balances big Hollywood moments with being a caring dad.

In a chat with IndieWire, Jason Momoa revealed the prep he did for the fight scenes, including learning bits of Kali. “I never really learned it,” he admitted, “but my son does.”

Momoa recalled sweet moments on set when he slipped little gestures to his kid. “There’s a Kali move where you touch your heart and then your head. I did it to Timothée in the film, but I meant it for my son.”

Then, on June 17, Deadline dropped the news that Nakoa-Wolf is officially joining his dad in the next Dune movie. While Momoa returns as Duncan Idaho, Nakoa-Wolf will take on the role of Leto II, the son of Paul Atreides (Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya).
