Billy Magnussen, well-known for his role in the upcoming Lilo & Stitch, is officially engaged!
The actor, 40, surprised his girlfriend, acclaimed photographer and creative director Erica Firestone, with a romantic beach proposal in Sardinia, Italy, and the couple shared the joyful moment on Instagram on Sunday, September 14.
In the very first post of a swipe-through carousel, the happy couple is seen on a sun-drenched Italian beach, standing beside a striped towel spread across the sand. To keep Firestone distracted, Magnussen hands her the remote for a drone, the very device recording every heartfelt second. While she concentrates on flying the drone, he quietly kneels in the sand and reveals the sparkling engagement ring from his pocket.
Moments later, she turns, realizing what is happening, and they embrace as the drone captures the kiss and element of surprise that follow. The video beautifully shows the love and joy of the couple in the sun, forever marking the beginning of a new chapter in their story.

Another sweet clip popped up on the feed showing the couple on the beach, waves rolling in behind them. Magnussen gave the camera his best thumbs-up, while Firestone just beamed.
The post also has cute selfies, some candid snaps, and Firestone flashing that eye-catching diamond ring in every angle. “Anywhere, just as long as you’re by my side #fidanzati 💍🤍,” the bride-to-be captioned, tossing in the Italian word for “engaged couple.”
Friends wasted no time cheering them on. Quincy Dunn-Baker dropped a simple, “Cheers brosky! Congrats” that perfectly captured the vibe. Anne Hollister, who helps run the HappyBad Bungalow production company with Magnussen, chimed in with: “So sweet!!!! ❤️ Piglet is trying on flower girl dresses,” in reference to their adorable pup.
Firestone later popped a surprise share in her Stories. Their hotel, the Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia, had left a chilled bottle of Contadi Castaldi wine on ice, complete with a handwritten congratulations card signed and dated September 12. The attention to detail is just so thoughtful and add to the magic of the trip.
Although it’s not clear exactly when Amy and Chris started seeing each other, the earliest hint of romance came when Amy Firestone posted a snapshot with Chris Magnussen on her Instagram feed back in October 2024. The picture showed the couple at the LA premiere of Chris’s HBO show, The Franchise.
A few days before Christmas that same year, Amy shared a cute carousel of images from Aspen. The couple is seen bundled up outdoors, with Chris showing off a snowboard in one shot. She captioned the series, “It’s a Wonderful Life 🏇❄️🏂.”
Over the years, Chris Magnussen’s résumé has steadily expanded; his credits include the soap opera As the World Turns, the inventive comedies Made for Love and Black Mirror, plus films like No Time to Die and the current reboot of Road House. He also lights up the stage, having been on both off-Broadway and Broadway. In 2013, he snagged a Tony nod for his lead turn in the play Spike.
