According to Vriety, This marked Wyle’s sixth Emmy nod for acting and lucky seven overall, since he’s also credited on “The Pitt” for best drama series. It’s his first trip to the stage, however. He put in five straight seasons for best supporting actor in a drama playing Dr. John Carter on the beloved “ER.”
“Right off the bat, to the other nominees, just having my name on the same card is a lifetime high,” Wyle said in his speech. “Big thanks to the folks over at HBO Max and Warner Bros. Television for practically writing the manual on letting a little magic happen. John Wells, I appreciate you for being that magic.”
“To the people clocking in or off tonight, this one’s for you,” he finished.
“The Pitt” hit HBO Max in January and quickly became a fan favorite and a critical darling. By February, it had already been greenlit for a second season, set to release in January 2026. This season, the show snagged 13 Emmy nominations, including nods for Noah Wyle and the best drama series.
A Creative Arts Emmy event the weekend before the Primetime ceremony handed the show two trophies: best guest actor in a drama for Shawn Hatosy and outstanding casting for Cathy Sandrich Gelfond and Erica Berger. Katherine LaNasa, who portrays charge nurse Dana, then capped the weekend by taking home best supporting actor in a drama.
