Veronika Slowikowska Joins SNL Cast for Season 51

The “Saturday Night Live” reshuffle is rolling ahead, with Ben Marshall moving up into the featured cast slot. Joining him in the same capacity are Veronika Slowikowska, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, and Tommy Brennan.

This week’s updates follow a departure wave, with Heidi Gardner leaving after eight seasons and three others—Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, and Emil Wakim—finishing with three, three, and one season, respectively.

Marshall, who joined the show in season 47, keeps returning as one-third of the Please Don’t Destroy team, while his co-worker and collaborator John Higgins steps away. Martin Herlihy stays on as a writer.

Veronika Slowikowska has broken through with bite-sized comedy sketches, picking up 1 million Instagram followers and 700,000 on TikTok. She also appears in Shane Gillis’ Netflix series “Tires” and in FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows.”

Culhane rolls out material on the same platforms and can be seen regularly in Dropout TV programs. He is also known for stage work with the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles.

Patterson, whose brutally honest sets keep people howling, crops up nearly every week on “Kill Tony,” the late-night roast show hosted by Tony Hinchcliffe, and the man’s name is now on the credits of “72 Hours,” the Kevin Hart joint that’s dropping on Netflix soon. Keep the snacks close.

Brennan, the sharp rookie whose jokes cut without mercy, popped up on that prestigious New Faces of Comedy slate at Just for Laughs in the summer of 2023 and followed up by knocking it out of the park on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” TV’s watching.

Walker wrapped up his “SNL” chapter on Instagram on August 25 with a post that pulled no punches: “Three years. Some memories are watercolor; some are oil. Created a wild little family out of the chaos.” Nor is he the only one saying goodbye this summer; his castmate Jim Wakim issued a moving farewell:

“Measured my heart on the scan every week, wondering how a nervous wreck like me ended up in the hall of monsters, and it still blows. To the gamblers, the wizards, the ghosts, I’ll forever flip the decks in your honor,” with a final, bittersweet, slide of mic.

According to NBC, “Saturday Night Live” Season 51 is back on your screen this October.4. The fresh season follows the recently concluded 50th anniversary celebration, which boasted multiple documentaries, a concert at Radio City Music Hall, and a three-hour live special featuring some of the most beloved “SNL” alumni.
