James Gunn Confirms ‘Superman’ Sequel Treatment Is Complete.
James Gunn has just shared some news regarding the sequel to his “Superman.” Speaking to Collider, he confirmed he’s finished the full treatment and, alongside his team, is now piecing together the production calendar.
“We’re scheduling it now. The treatment is totally done. I write long treatments; this is a 60-page document that includes full dialogue, not just a summary. So I’m adapting that into a script at this very moment and figuring out a shooting schedule. We’re aiming to roll cameras much sooner rather than later.”

During the recent press round for the “Superman” film, James Gunn mentioned he’s penning a new story starring David Corenswet as Superman, though he danced around whether this is a direct sequel or a fresh entry in the story’s arc.
According to Aol, Looking a bit farther down the road, the DC slate also features “Peacemaker” Season 2, “Supergirl,” the “Lanterns” series, “Wonder Woman,” and “Clayface.” Gunn noted on CBS Mornings that each venture in the DC universe will bring its own unique tone and style, echoing the variety you find on a comic shop shelf.
@cbsmornings James Gunn tells @Vladimir Duthiers that while he still doesn't know what Batman's costume is going to look like, fans can expect a diverse and exciting lineup of upcoming DC projects, each bringing its own unique style: "There's not a company style. It's not like every movie is going to be like 'Superman.'" #superman #superman2025 #jamesgunn #batman #supergirl #dc ♬ original sound – CBS Mornings
“‘Clayface’ is its own beast. It sits in the same multiverse we already know, but at its core, it’s a pure horror film, and that’s by design,” Gunn said.
“There’s no uniform house style. You shouldn’t expect another movie to feel the same as ‘Superman.’ Each creator, whether artist, director, or writer, will stamp the story with their own vision. … We’re actively trying to keep the audience wide awake.”
