Katy Perry wants her fans to know they’re never alone.
During her Las Vegas show Saturday night, Katy called a few fans to join her at the front of the Little Caesars Arena. When one, a girl named McKenna, suddenly collapsed, the pop star dropped to her knees to keep her safe while the medics rushed over.
Perry noticed right away that McKenna was feeling a huge wave of emotion. Before the moment went sideways, Katy had handed out colorful shakers and told the fans to move to the beat and remember to breathe.

After McKenna went limp, Perry held her head and whispered calming words. The room went quiet while the medics checked her pulse. Soon, the other onstage fans formed a little circle, and Perry led a simple, loving prayer, asking God to bring McKenna back to full strength.

Katy later told reporters that the pressure of a huge arena show can feel “overwhelming,” but the most important thing is making sure every one of her listeners, especially the young ones, feels protected and loved.

“It’s a lot,” Perry told The Independent. “You can be solid enough to walk onto a stage, then it hits you. I get it.” Later in the same concert, Perry added, “Oh, and McKenna’s doing just fine, by the way.”
The Lifetimes Tour stays in North America until August 23, wrapping up in Miami before the team flies to South America, then Europe, then Asia.
Perry’s Montreal concert on July 30 welcomed a surprise: former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The two had hung out in the city two days before the show, and Trudeau, 53, was back in the crowd that night. He kept it simple in a black tee, beamed while watching Perry, and even chimed in on a few favorites.
This all follows Perry’s split from Orlando Bloom. Perry and Bloom co-parent 4-year-old Daisy Dove, who was not at the Montreal show.
