Paramount+ Confirms Landman Season 2 with Sam Elliott Joining the Cast

Paramount+ has confirmed the return of Landman—the Texas oil dramedy from Taylor Sheridan—highlighting Sam Elliott’s much-anticipated arrival in season two. 

Fans will not have to wait long; new episodes will debut on Sunday, Nov. 16, a brisk 10-month turnaround, especially amid the trend of multi-year gaps between streaming seasons. Elliott, who previously appeared in Sheridan’s 1883, rounds out a cast that features Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, and Ali Larter reprising their roles.

The inaugural season recorded 35 million viewers globally, establishing the series as the streamer’s most-watched original title. It will now roll out immediately after the third season of Tulsa King, which starts on Sept. 21. That sequel, too, has been produced in under a year and followed the compressed brewing of the prior season.

While Yellowstone once suffered a notable scheduling delay, Sheridan’s current catalog demonstrates a remarkable synchronization between series expansion and audience appetite. Set against the backdrop of contemporary West Texas booms, Landman dramatizes ambition, fortune, and consequence in the oil industry.

The narrative splits the frame between the dusty camps of roughnecks and the opulent offices of fortune-hunters, illustrating how a single rupture in the earth is re-engineering the economy, the balance of power, and the planet’s future.
