During the ONE PIECE Day festivities in Tokyo, Netflix lifted the sails on a sneak peek for Season 2, which will toss anchor in 2026.
Even better, the series has already been greenlit for a Season 3, with cameras rolling in Cape Town, South Africa, by the end of this year. Ian Stokes now joins Joe Tracz in the captain’s chair as co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
While the Golden Roger’s (Michael Dorman) legendary treasure, the One Piece, still glimmers just out of reach, the Straw Hats are ready to chart a course straight into a new wave of grand adventures on the Grand Line.

What’s Coming in ONE PIECE Season 2?







Season 2 is all about the stakes going up and the adventures getting wilder. Luffy and the Straw Hat crew drop anchor in the legendary Grand Line, a sea famous for both treasures and terrifying surprises. While hunting for the ultimate treasure, One Piece, they’ll visit mind-bending islands and face brand-new foes tougher than ever.
Co-showrunner and writer Matt Owens told Tudum we’ll definitely meet Dr. Kureha this time around. The writers had her in the plans from the very first meeting and knew her story would bring major twists to the season.
Fans can also look forward to the first appearance of Tony Tony Chopper, the reindeer who can talk and transform. Season 2 is the Grand Line we’ve been hinting at all along, and the crew is finally sailing into those waters. The adventure we’ve waited for all our summer is about to become real!

According to Netflix, from Mexico to Japan, Los Angeles to Las Vegas, the Straw Hats flew back to South Africa. Iñaki Godoy (Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji) reunited on set for the new seas.
Did Oda Visit the Season 2 SET?
You bet! Oda landed in South Africa and met the Season 1 crew and all the new faces. He chatted with Bridgerton star Charithra Chandran and Never Have I Ever’s Sendhil Ramamurthy, keeping the crew running on the same spirit of friendship and adventure.
“I picked my cast for Season 2 from Japan using just photos and videos, yet seeing everyone together for the first time told me I made the right calls!” Oda said in a letter he sent during his visit, adding the energy on set “was exactly the best!”
